Happy Leap Day!

Every four years I do some crazy stuff for the leap day. After all we only have that special occasion as much in a lifetime. And according to the series 30 Rock, what you do this day doesn't count anyway. So I'd rather make something funny and creative instead. Like I quoted in my twitter account:

Thanks to @alecbaldwin and #30rock I'm wearing yellow and blue. Don't ask me why, just watch the show on the episode about #leapday

A leap year ago... funny bunny but I think it should exist, this expresssion to mention each four years, it passes way too fast. So fast, it jumps over the years.

The last leap day I spent creating ecological bags through recycle materials. You can view them on my entry HERE

I also managed to create a clothline based upon the art of camouflage.

Imagine turning a bag into a dress or a top... or going to the beach with a pareo having a small bag looking like a shell-

This year I decided to spend it leaping, literally. So I jumped on my facebook page and threw a bunch of pics of me and my Preta jumping like bunnies. What a thrill!

I don't want to jump into conclusions but I'm guessing everyone is expressing a different mood about this extra day, although I'm pretty sure the majority of people just like to spend the day like every other day from the other 365. And maybe that's what makes everything so special to me, that I want to celebrate each and every trivial occasion, it's my way of dealing with things that counts after all.

And you?? How are you spending leap day? Hope you have an awesome bissextile year!

Hopelessly devoted to you...

What a sunday!! I got a show of nature with Swan singing in Symphony...

And then I got a live show-woman, the queen of Xanadu, nothing more nothing less than Olivia Newton John! I knew that she was in Chile. But to meet her, it was such a coincidence...well, I do not believe in coincidences, since I was thinking of her in the morning, about her awareness on Breast Cancer, imagining that someone in her family also died of cancer, who is actually true, her own father. And it was such a hot day, that after taking my dog to a walk in the park I screamed for an ice cream...And look who was there having brunch? So I waited for her, and when she left the place, I said, "Olivia!" "Yeah...", she answered to me, so casual yet with so much charisma and caring as if meeting a long lost friend. Then I asked her when or if she was coming to Brazil again for I wanted her to take another pic with my brother. All that she wanted it was to give water to my pet, who is always in the move (just like me), saying, "See, she was thirsty... it was all that she wanted..." And that because I had already given my Preta a bottle of water. Such a lucky dog, Pretty Preta, to drink from Olivia's bottle! Olivia has such a great energy and she's an inspiration to us all... She's indeed a living legend!!!!:)) So here I share this moment with you:

It's so amazing, just to think about my whole childhood spent listening to all the vinyl albums with Olivia Newton-John's music that my brother collected, just to thirty years later have the same fate as my brother did of meeting her....and talking to her. That was priceless. Thank God and thanks to the Universe, for allowing the Law of Attraction and syncronicities to happen in such wonderful ways...
Here's the pic that my brother took with her when she was in Rio, to spending the Carnaval in Brazil (when she was thirty-two) and when I mentioned that she said, "Yeah, it was a long time ago!":)

Ascension in a Balloon

It's been two hundred and twenty five years since the two brothers, Joseph and Jacques Montgolfier, presented for the first time their invention in France. It was a balon a l'air chaud, or the hot-air balloon. Although the Brazilian born in the same city as I, in Santos, the Portuguese priest and navigator Bartolomeu de Gusman had already launched his light-than-air airship design some seventy-four years earlier. He wrote a description of his invention "Manifesto summario para os que ignoram poderse navegar pelo elemento do ar"- a Short Manifesto for those who are unaware that is possible to sail through the element air, published in 1709, in Vienna, and another one that was lost was found in the Vatican in 1917. Such as Santos Dumont, another Brazilian, who designed, built and flew the first practical dirigible balloons, was also the first aviator, though they proclaim the Wright Brothers invented the first plane. And Dumont was the one who committed suicide when he found out that his invention was used to make war.

But it's been a month and a half and still no sign of another Brazilian priest, de Carly, who took off using helium balloons. In a noble cause, he was trying to raise funds to charity by establishing a world record of flight, he got lots amidst the heavy winds, and he probably went down somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. I pray that he had encountered a safe haven, or as time goes by, it's more certain that he found a place in Heaven now.

Rod Stewart and his Steawy Art

Last night, she went to Rod Stewart in Concert and his changing of clothes reminded her of the Concert Diana Ross gave in Sao Paulo, only it was a male version of a fashion show. Then she thought of how nice it was when she could go to the shows for free, may it be for working, modelling or promoting, or accompanying her famous bass player hubby. Rod arrived at six in the airport, and right, and very British, he started the show on time, with the music she had in her head on the last three days, "It's a heartache". The public was agitated. But it was only because they could not sit down while he played his rocking music. Rod said, "Now you can all sit down. Those seats were very expensive!"Ana had her seat on the right side of the stage, up there but very far away. Many times he would wave in her direction. She, along with everybody else, would wave back. Then, once he waved, and Ana sent him a kiss. When he sang "you're in my heart, you're in my soul" he threw it, the kiss she had sent to him two songs before, back to her. It was a delight. He can sing for more thirty years to come and he would still make his audience exhilarate with his hits. What a voice!! Perfect tune! And he danced the whole show with a small break of less than ten minutes and he was back again ceaselessly, and insatiably ("Don't you think I am sexy?") and so was his audience. To leave the place was almost impossible, not only because everybody there wanted more (he gave only a bis, saying, "just because you arrived on time": funny British humour!:) But the crowd was so huge it was all a crusade to get "rod" of it. All of a sudden she was being carried by that ocean of people and there was a car in the middle, and another two vans waiting to cross the "river". When Ana looked inside the van behind, she saw the female singers waving back to the crowd. When she looked in the van in front Ana saw a very blond (almost bleached) man in the front seat. He looked at the people there being smashed, and then he looked down. He was waiting for them (the crowd) to pass. No, it was not Roddie, but rather his drummer, who showed to the public that he doesn't make a drama but plays along, and alone so very well, when he played solo in the middle of the spectacle. The whole show lasted two hours. And Rod was heading back to the airport, which made her wonder, "man, this guy ever sleeps at all?" He has more two concerts in Buenos Aires, for today and tomorrow. What an energy, fuelled with fire from his heart, but not fooled by the throat cancer he had to endure in 2001. His voice is perfect, and he will continue, because he is simply made to prod! "Sing it again, Rod!" (for surely "blondes have more fun"!:)
The Concert to its fullest:
