Hopelessly devoted to you...

What a sunday!! I got a show of nature with Swan singing in Symphony...

And then I got a live show-woman, the queen of Xanadu, nothing more nothing less than Olivia Newton John! I knew that she was in Chile. But to meet her, it was such a coincidence...well, I do not believe in coincidences, since I was thinking of her in the morning, about her awareness on Breast Cancer, imagining that someone in her family also died of cancer, who is actually true, her own father. And it was such a hot day, that after taking my dog to a walk in the park I screamed for an ice cream...And look who was there having brunch? So I waited for her, and when she left the place, I said, "Olivia!" "Yeah...", she answered to me, so casual yet with so much charisma and caring as if meeting a long lost friend. Then I asked her when or if she was coming to Brazil again for I wanted her to take another pic with my brother. All that she wanted it was to give water to my pet, who is always in the move (just like me), saying, "See, she was thirsty... it was all that she wanted..." And that because I had already given my Preta a bottle of water. Such a lucky dog, Pretty Preta, to drink from Olivia's bottle! Olivia has such a great energy and she's an inspiration to us all... She's indeed a living legend!!!!:)) So here I share this moment with you:

It's so amazing, just to think about my whole childhood spent listening to all the vinyl albums with Olivia Newton-John's music that my brother collected, just to thirty years later have the same fate as my brother did of meeting her....and talking to her. That was priceless. Thank God and thanks to the Universe, for allowing the Law of Attraction and syncronicities to happen in such wonderful ways...
Here's the pic that my brother took with her when she was in Rio, to spending the Carnaval in Brazil (when she was thirty-two) and when I mentioned that she said, "Yeah, it was a long time ago!":)

Sunrise over Andes

Heaven is thine
Embrace what's mine
As I cannot give a flower
Vividly there to shine.
Entice the kiss as shadows of a bliss
Never ending the sunshine of ours.

Love frees us of all pain,
Or that one may restrain.
Vicious circle that ever widens without end.
Essentially a glorious manifestation we befriend.

Love with no boundaries and no restraint,
Or it makes one saint, or the other faint;
Vows the sweetest face, the tenderest embrace,
Each bringing the sun to place in such grace.

Sometimes the snow comes down in June again.
Or also it's the sun that goes round a blue mountain.
Under the sun nature comes to life this very morning
Little birds sing, busy bees and drivers are horning.

The sun rising over the Andes makes me meditate
Over the place we are, in our Earth current state.
On how we can create more harmony with violet light
Letting Love vibration surround us into a deep insight.

Changing the Guard at Palacio de la Moneda

"En Garde!" He shouts.
"What's this all about?"
could have sang the bards.
"Changing the Guards."

What were they doing
before they went renewing
the others marching in the yard
Changing the Guards?

Were they playing cards
or were all in disregard?
What if they miss their time
when nothing else should rhyme?

It would have made a mess
if they were playing chess,
instead of Changing the Guards.
It must be so very hard...

To stay up all day long
and doing nothing wrong.
How can they belong
and still stay so strong?

What if some of the guards
leave soon or are in retard?
What happens if they move
from their conventional groove?

Independence Day in Chile

Ana grabbed her camera this afternoon and went right to the Palacio de la Moneda in Santiago to film the president of Chile, Michelle Bachelet, live, leaving and heading to the Independence Day's Parade:

Neruda's Chascona

Neruda's house in Santiago was named by the Nobel prize of Literature as "Chascona" after his wife's look for she always wore her hair as a big tugged wig. She was often called "Medusa" for that (or perhaps her character;) and visiting his house gave me inspiration for small lyrics which I transcribe below in Spanish and translate in English.

La Chascona (Neruda's House)
Lyrics by Ana 'nTunes

Hay una mujer desnuda
en la casa de Neruda!

Inside Pablo Neruda's home
a body lies without a dome.Luego de llegar a la entrada
uno poede ver una bella hada.

Right there in the front hall
we see a fairy in an icy wall.En su amplio y calmo jardin
hay de misterios un sin fin.

Endless enigma had the bard
In a large and calm backyard.
En medio de la pieza rara
hay un quadro con su cara.

In the middle of a rare room
a portrait reveals his gloom.Subiendo la escalera en el hall
uno como que entra en un caracol.

Climbing up the weird snail stair
will make you grasp for some air.Y en esa pieza hay montones de cosas
de libros tan antiguos como de losas.

Up there it's a room filled with bric-a-brac
and rare books that'll make you want to pack. Pero lo que mas me encanto en su casa
fue ver la gente mirar a ver que pasa.

But what I most enjoyed there after all
t'was to see visitors passing by the hall.

"Cheery Shoes"

Ana went to Valparaiso,
the harbour city of Chile.
The sky was so blue,
it was not so chilly,
so she took off her shoes
and walked on the streets.(bis)
She danced until she could fleet
climbing up on the big valley,
to the edge of a pit.
There she took a flower
from a fine old tree
and she felt so free...(bis)
Her shoes accompanied her trip,
But then they took another flip.
And ran away
They didn't follow her way.
She looked but they were gone.
She cried out alone.(bis)

Then they came back
and now she wears her shoes
like a bric-a-brac.
That's the end
If you want more
come back once again
just to sing the refrain.

Papudo/Zapallar (CHILE)

Papudo's Beach "Playa Chica" and the Municipality and Cultural Centre "Chalet Recart"
Papudo's Bay is bathed by the Pacific Ocean where it brings a diverse and rich fauna to its shore, such as penguins, sea lions, seals and, if you are lucky enough you can also see dolphins. I arrived there early in the morning, the city was still asleep. Little by little they opened their eyes to view only a few tourists wandering around the streets. I wanted to have some caffeine on my veins, for my limbic system was functioning almost in a zero degree, as I didn't have breakfast yet, and the cold breeze seemed to have frozen, not only my brain, but my camera lens as well. And the very few places that could have some coffee were actually closed. Inside a hotel there was a cafeteria but they only served the clients already installed, and they didn't have a service for outsiders (like me!) And yet, there were some home-made delicatessens displayed in the main plaza that were also closed. And, yes, I was starving... I would guess that if you are in a place made for tourists, at least have some compassion for those who just arrived! But that didn't take the grace and beauty of this place.
Heading a little bit to the North and we arrive to Zapallar. I was stupefied to the fact that, after going there each and every summer, only this time I found out that the most precious place was hidden from the less adventurous ones, which is where we can reach to the other side to view the entire bay from a small trail made of stones. Also taking a walk in the woods to breath deeply into the pine trees and araucarias which dominate the area to arrive to a bifurcation makes it an even more exciting trip, I mean trick (because, believe me, you wouldn't know which place was the most attractive one to pick:)
Araucaria (or Pinus Araucana as it was first called in 1780s) is an evergreen forestation found mostly in the Central area and no wonder is considered the national tree of Chile.
And then to admire the details of the architecture on its various facets, which embraces the mountain without fighting or contrasting with the greening and without feeling that awkward sensation of invading a private place gives one a sense of belonging. One might think that diversity of themes and materials would lead to a disordered (dis)solution. Instead it rather harmonically involves the local environment, a familiar sense of heading home. Each construction invites the visitors to decipher the enigmas encrypted on each brick and stone, and hearing the stories that each house surrounding the bay area are eager to tell... it takes my breath away just to remember for THAT is already a plus, with no coffee included (or needed!;)And how not to mention the fishermen's wharf, a place worth visiting. Of course, if it's already eleven and you don't have breakfast yet you can always make a "poor me" face. You even forget about the seagull that just took a big piece of fish from the cat on the roof, and the many succulent oyster shells thrown out on the rocks, and right in front of avid seafood lover's eyes (which is not my case... I mean, taste!:) And you ask gently if they could open it a little bit earlier, for your stomach is inside out. And, just for a change, you tip the waiter on reverse, reserve a table in a nice restaurant right on the shores where a feline had an eye for a fish, and sing a couple of verses from Neruda's "Ode to the Cat" while throwing an eye and watching attentively (but with discretion) the ebullient almost kitsch décor from the reception which so much resembles the house of the poet in Isla Negra:

"The animals were born to fail,
with long tails and sad tales.
Bit by bit such fate they escaped,
conquering landscapes,
garnering moles, grace, flight.
The cat, and only the cat (all right)
appeared absolute in pride:
He was born totally finished,
walking solitary
and knowing what he wished.

Man wants to be fish and bird
the serpent wished to have wings,
the dog is a disoriented feline,
the engineer wants to be a poet
(with only lines and no lies)
the fly studies to be bird to sing,
the poet tries to imitate flies,
but the cat wants only to be a cat
and all cat are cats (not mice)
from whiskers to tail,
from presentiment to rat with no trail,
from the night to his golden eyes.

There are no unity like his,
neither the moon or the flower
has such a texture:
He is a whole thing
like the sun or the topaz,
and the elastic line of his contour
firm and subtle
is like the line of a ship's prow.
His yellow eyes left a single slot
through which to throw
the coins of the night.
(...) cannot decipher a cat.
My reason slid in his numbness,
his eyes have numbers of gold (or Highness;)"

(My own version of the "Odd")
